Our wines feature vineyards of the Highway 12 corridor through the Sonoma Valley and Carneros District. These appellations comprise our “neighborhood” and carry a special meaning for us. This is our home. Our grower-partners are all friends who share our pride in this region and still consider a handshake more binding than a contract.

2009 Highwayman Proprietary Red

New Release

This new 2009 release is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (42%), Cabernet Franc (38%), Petite Verdot (10%) and Merlot (10%). The composition of this ‘Bordeaux-influenced’ blend showcases vibrant berry notes that may way for a rich, lush experience. The core varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc work like a symphony when blended together. You’ll find a dense core and firm, yet inviting tannins with a velvety-soft finish leaving an elegant impression. As we say, even our Man in Black has an elegant side to him. Will age well for 7 to 10 years.

2008 Old Sonoma Red, Mission Hardware

The 2nd release of our very popular ‘EVERYDAY’ red wine. Perfect for that outdoor grilling affair with friends or with that quick ‘mid-week’ dinner, this 2008 ‘Old Sonoma Red’ release is a blend of Merlot and Syrah. Barrel aged and produced in a medium bodied fashion, the winemaking goal was a wine that reflected the flavor and feel of Old Sonoma.

Enjoy with hearty, casual fare such as Pasta Bolognese, Pizza or Chili!

La Piazza

2010 La Piazza Zinfandel, Sonoma Valley

Zinfandel makes a return to the Highway 12 line up in the form of La Piazza. What would you expect from a Sonoma Valley Zin? Exactly what we have here…a bold, jammy wine with a 25% addition of Primitivo to provide that ‘touch’ of Italian style. Only 250 cases produced.

2009 La Piazza Super Tuscan

The second release of our Super Tuscan unites Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Enjoy a wonderful bouquet of cherries and cedar leading to a deliciously light mouth-feel and long, deep finish. Rich dark berries and mineral notes balance well with the extended aging in neutral and new French Oak. New to this release is the addition of silky Sonoma Valley Cabernet Franc. 250 cases produced.

NEW RELEASE

The new 2009 release presents the vibrant berry-like characteristics of Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon. An intense dark color leads the way to wonderful ripe Cabernet aromas of dark berries and soft French oak nuances. The silky entry provides for a polished varietal presence supported by soft tannins for prime enjoyment in it’s youth. The addition of Cabernet Franc (10%) and Merlot (8%) lend a soft richness and subtle tannin to this versatile wine.

A Highway 12 Winery flagship. Equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot from a favorite ‘Highway 12’ vineyard. Each varietal brings its characteristic flair from intense Cabernet (34%) richness, silky elegance from the Cab Franc (33%) and lush, earthy tones from the Merlot (33%). The 2009 release is brimming with intense berry-like richness and a soft, full finish.

2009 Reserve Chardonnay

A very special release for us, our 2009 Reserve Chardonnay is lush, well balanced and offered Michael an opportunity to create a “pinnacle” Chardonnay. Impeccable Sangiacomo fruit leads with aromas of peach, citrus and pear and oak. On the palate the wine clearly defines itself as ripe pear, apple and hints of tropical fruit. The wine enjoyed extended barrel aging in new French Oak and six months in the bottle prior to release. Full malolactic fermentation provides a soft, lingering finish balanced perfectly with the oak.

2006 Highway 12 Reserve Blend - LIBRARY STATUS

Library Status
This second-coming of our Reserve Bordeaux Blend offers an elegant, slightly sweet entry with a touch of power through the mid-palate, giving us a classic Serres Ranch minerality for the finish. The mocha, berry and supple smooth delivery of this wine makes it a beauty for years to come. 32% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 12% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2020.

As it’s name implies, this wine truly stands alone. This second offering of Highwayman, with equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is deep, dark, and soulful. The rich black fruit, soft oak and minerality are the backdrop for a velvety entry and powerful mid-palate. Enjoy decanted now and over the next 7-12 years. Only 90 cases produced.
